Shoulder Replacement Surgery

Written by alex on Sunday, April 29th, 2012 in Arthritis.

www.theshouldercenter.com Most adults are aware-of the existence of hip or knee replacements and perhaps even know someone that has had one. Most people, however, don’t know someone that has had a shoulder replacement. While over 750000 hip and knee replacements were performed in 2008, only about 50000 shoulder replacements were performed in the United States during the same year. The shoulder numbers lag behind the other two partly because shoulders aren’t required for mobility. That means when people develop severe arthritis in the shoulder, many are able to compensate by using the other shoulder more, or make do with rest and medication, rather than having surgery.

Would you help me blow out my birthday candles? Would you tuck me in at night? And rub that arthritis cream into my shoulders? Would you promise to have and have and hold and cheer? Would you kiss my lips? Would you wipe away my tears? If I was 65 already, and ugly as poor betty, Would, you be my love? If I was 35 already Would you crave my silhouette-y? Would you make do with my baby bumps? Would you laugh and play me Watch reality TV, Even though you hate it? Would you answer every time I call? Would you catch me when I start to fall? If I was 35 already, going strong and steady, Would you be my love? But I’m no young young old old woman I’m just trying to live true With my feet on the floor I want nothing more Than just to impress you If I was 15 already Would you let me pierce my belly? Get a big ole tattoo on the back of my ass? Would you help me do my chores? Eat me some s’mores till my stomach exploded? Would you wait for me in the third floor hall? Would you write my name on the bathroom stall? If I was 15 already, oh so young and petty Would you be my love? See you next Sunday! -abby
