Two people affected by pancreatic cancer set themselves the extraordinary challenge to swim the Southampton Solent, run around the Isle of Wight and swim back again in just three days. Steve Jobs, founder of Apple, died today afternoon to cancer. Jobs had been battling cancer for years, and stepped down as CEO of Apple in August when he could no longer meet his duties and expectations. Adopted at birth on Feb 24, 1955, Jobs grew up in Cupertino, California. As a teenager, he phoned William Hewlett, president of Hewlett-Packard, to request parts for a school project. He got them, along with an offer of a summer job at HP. Jobs was a College dropout, leaving Oregon’s Reed College after only one semester. He quit one of his first jobs, designing video games for Atari, to backpack across India. Those experiences, Jobs said later, shaped his creative vision. Tell us what you think in the comments below.
