According to the AAP, A well supervised strength training and fitness program has been shown to be very beneficial to teens in terms of bone strength, bodyfat reduction, cardiovascular fitness, cholesterol levels and mental health. There are three things that will stunt your growth: steroids, some supplements, and poor nutrition. People keep asking what supplements I recommend for teens. None!!!! I am firmly anti-supplement – *especially* for teens. I dont care if its creatine or Acai berries, my opinion is that if you have good nutrition you dont need any supplements. Its always best to get nutrients from their natural source rather than extruded from some machine in a factory. If you want creatine, eat meat! If you want Acai berrries, then eat the berries rather than taking some “berry-pill”. If you are concerned about maximizing your strength and mass gains then learn how to eat healthy, dont pop pills!
