Myofascial Trigger points: Introduction

Written by alex on Thursday, April 12th, 2012 in Migraines.

Myofascial trigger points (MTrPs) are a common muscular problem. Note that this is different from muscle spasms and general soreness. MTrPs can be classified as being active or latent. active MTrPs can refer pain to close or distant locations in the body. They have many different causes, ranging from trauma to metabolic. These points can be treated by a trained professional, and may even be treated by self-manual therapy. New imaging such as ultrasound, MRE, Electromyography, as well as histological and biochemical analysis of these MTrPs has recently given insight to their nature.

Here’s a video of Dr Chen performing Botox injection for jawline reshaping to make the jaw area slimmer. This is a lady in her twenties who came to me for Botox injections as she was keen to turn her squarish-shaped face into a more oval, attractive one. She wished to make her jawline less prominent and more slender. Botox is most well-known for its ability to effectively but safely reduce facial wrinkles. However, there are many other uses for Botox including reshaping the face into a more oval, attractive one, treating migraine and reducing sweating at the armpits, palms of hands or soles of feet. The effect of Botox lasts for jawline slimming can last for 1.5 years. After 1.5 years, the jaw will slowly go back to its original shape, but will never be bigger than before injection. Botox has been in the market for 20 years, and has been proven to be very safe but effective. One may choose to continue injecting Botox after its effects wears off, or you may simply discontinue the injections. Discontinuing the injections will result in the wrinkles or facial shape coming back to its ORIGINAL state, not worse than prior to injection. Botox jawline slimming is a very worthwhile investment for 1.5 years of attractive looks! No facial products or beauty centre treatment can even come close to the impressive results Botox achieve. Our clinic is opposite the KL convention centre and the Aquaria KLCC. It is very nearby Pavillion shopping complex. Our location: www.medivironuoa.com
