CSULA researchers work on study to educate elderly Chinese Americans about diabetes
When nursing professors asked elderly Chinese-Americans what they needed help with, the answer was overwhelming: diabetes. That squares with research that shows that diabetes is becoming an increasing problem among Chinese-Americans. About 13 percent of Chinese-Americans in California have diabetes – and those are just the cases that are diagnosed.
