I was actually going to talk about starting the PhD, so I started talking a little bit about social anxiety because it was, and still is a problem. Then I decided half way through making the video that I’d talk a bit more about it. There is a lot more to it than this, I’m only talking about what happens at uni. I hate to talk about my anxiety to people because it makes me even more nervous. It’s actually very stupid, what I am afraid of is that people will see how afraid I am. Will people see my hands shake? Can people hear my heart beat? Am I blushing? Talking to a camera is a lot easier because no one is watching these things. It makes me even more nervous that this is all happening at the psychology department. I have had this problem for a long time, but haven’t really made videos about it. I actually have made a few, but i haven’t uploaded them. I almost wasn’t going to upload this one. I have had talk therapy and taken SSRIs for it as well as for depressive episodes that I’ve had through out life. Unfortunately the thing that works the best for me is alcohol. Even that can sometimes make me even more anxious, so it’s a gamble. Although I’m lucky as it’s mild to moderate in severity, so I am able to live a fairly functional life, especially thanks to a lot of things being done online. And there a few friends who I feel very comfortable around and can do a lot more things around them. They probably would not know about my problem at all. People are affected by social …

I want to look psychiatrist but I dont have insurance and this is expensive, what pill works best to treat social anxiety disorder? I always hear about Zoloft I also have insomnia. How can u get prescribed benzodiazepine? I know this can be habit forming, is it only for really bad cases? thank you to everyone u guys are always so helpful

In this video I discuss, how I feel an abandonment from friends of my past because they are all married or have achieved much more than I have. I feel like my life is going to become very chaotic over the next 3 years. I worry about how society will view me if I am some 40 something year old who has never had a girlfriend. One of my biggest fears is becoming an outcast of society and being hated by people and being put into a category of unwanted people.

I have been diagnosed as having social anxiety disorder. I don’t like to chat about it as it can be rather embarrassing since me to tell people this. I ask if I’m protected because last week I started my fall semester at college (I am Junior). in past I have informed my professors of my problem, & they have all been completely willing to work with me. Obviously this is not an easy thing to go to college & have it disorder. I made one of my English profs aware of it today, & her reply was basically ‘You need to get over that if you’re going to succeed in college. ‘ I am extremely upset because she was not willing to work with me on this at every (there is one specific assignment at her class that I needed accomodations with & that is an oral presentation in which im supposed to teach class for the full period). I just need to know if I can do anything about her ignorant behavior & get help I need. Thanks!!
